On Wednesday 3 March, Glenn Maxwell demolished a seat at Sky Stadium in the 3rd T20 international between the BLACKCAPS and Australia.
On the second ball of the 16th over, Maxwell sent a full length ball off Jimmy Neesham 10 rows back into the Western side of the Stadium bowl. The game was played behind closed doors due to Wellington being at COVID Alert Level 2. He hit 6 boundaries from the over for 28 runs, on his way to 70 runs off just 31 balls.
We removed the broken seat and we were thrilled that Glenn was happy to sign it after the game.
We are auctioning the signed seat. All proceeds will go to the Wellington Homeless Women’s Trust; a charity dedicated to making a difference within our community by providing support and accommodation to homeless women in central Wellington.
