The Blue Wonder

Item Description

Calling all imagineers This would have to be the most quirky and unique listing on trademe currently. I am told it was built by a company called heron that made fiberglass bodied racing cars as a crop sprayer for kiwi fruit orchards (so basically a farm machine with racing in its dna) I cant find any information on it but it appears to have a 4.1 liter ford motor unknown transmission and land rover transfer box and axles. It didn't come with a tank however it still has a pump fitted that looks like it would be big enough to have pumped out the titanic and saved it from going down if they'd had it on board back then but then we would have never got the movie so maybe just as well they didn't. What it deserves is someone with a vision to to repurpose it into something special the potential this thing has is endless you could take the obvious and restore it to its original purpose and save a piece of kiwi engineering history cos let's face it whoever designed and made this thing was obviously a genius and the epitome of kiwi ingenuity. You could fit it with seats and do beach tours. You could fit bolsters and make a firewood hauler (4wd grip, 4ws maneuverability, low center of gravity this would be a weapon ) You could make your own mars rover for when Elon starts selling trips up there. You could make the coolest Christmas parade float platform. Or replace the engine with a flat 6 from a Porsche or Subaru put a platform on the back and make NZs coolest race car transporter. (See the picture of the famous Mercedes version) I have no idea of the condition of the engine but my understanding is it was parked up when the tank gave up so it very possibly could be made to go easily by someone who knows their way round motors etc. A guy who knows a lot about such things reckons all the engineering work alone would run you close to 40k these days to replicate so someone is going to get a bargain. If you have any other suggestions for what it could be add them in the questions, could get interesting.
